I'm a lifelong reader, literary critic, writer, podcast host, and the creator of Silk & Sentences. I read more than 200 books each year across a wide range of genres, from literary fiction and historical fiction to fantasy, horror, crime, romance, and everything in between.

Before dedicating myself to books full-time, I spent more than three decades as an internationally published makeup artist, fashion stylist, and creative professional. I also hold degrees in Philosophy and Theology, which probably explains why I'm just as interested in the ideas behind a story as I am in the story itself.

I live in semi-rural Queensland, Australia, with my husband of more than thirty years, and when I'm not reading you'll usually find me recording podcast episodes, rearranging bookshelves, playing in my dressing room, planning my next book club gathering, or convincing myself that I don't need to buy another book. (I always fail on that account).
